~Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life~ Every Thursday at Like Mother Like Daughter |
Today's PHFR is brought to you by nothing cohesive. Just deal.
Pretty
Redheaded Snippet got to attend a friend's Sweet Sixteen party, the theme of which was Alice in Wonderland. This was her Cheshire Cat interpretation. She wore this crazy orange and black striped costume that has been in the family attics for at least 30 years (and that we girls always called the Cheshire Cat costume) but she wouldn't let me get it in the photo.
Happy
Funny (and hopefully not tragic)
I did something today I never thought I would ever do. And I still can't believe I did it. I bought meat out of a truck sitting in my driveway. Doesn't that sound insane?
The story was this guy is a restaurant supplier who had a surplus of quality meats and was going door-to-door to unload it all. I called The Viking, he said check it out, it looked like good stuff (and the company's website checked out) and the price was right. I may not be able to sleep tonight, wondering if we're going to be getting another visit in the middle of the night from a professional burglar who uses a fancy-looking refrigerated truck as a cover for casing out homes to rob, but it looks like we got some good steaks!
Real
This is what my dining room table usually looks like this time of year. Costume central! This is after I'd tidied up a bit. Daria has a strict no photos policy (something about outstanding warrants or something) but she did deign to let me photograph her very gifted hands.
